BC Sports Hall of Fame

Spring Break is almost here so all of us parents are scrambling to find things to do to keep those kids busy. I mean busy kids are happy kids when it comes to school breaks. I have discovered, sometimes the hard way, that bored children with nothing planned basically have nothing better to do than create full chaos at all times.

Especially if you have boys.

I have boys.

So this Spring Break I have been looking for some great ideas, some affordable ideas and something pretty awesome popped up!

All Spring Break the BC Sports Hall of Fame is offering FREE admission to kids 6-17 yrs old – making your visit that much better on your pocket book. So if you have sport loving kids this is a great way to spend a few hours while visiting downtown Vancouver.

Experience the legendary stories of British Columbia’s best athletes and teams in a fun, interactive, family-friendly environment. Come and explore the interactive displays inside the Rick Hansen, Terry Fox, Greg Moore and Indigenous Sport galleries. Step up for a photo on the 2010 Olympic podium, test your sprinting skills in the participation zone or try your luck with a photo scavenger hunt.

The legendary Greg Moore Gallery has also gone through a recent revitalization, which features new artifacts and not to be missed displays. For the first time guests can get up close and personal with Greg Moore’s Team Indy car and watch never before seen footage of everything from Greg Moore’s early go-karting days in Maple Ridge to his high-profile races in the IndyCar/CART circuit.

The newly refreshed Vancouver 2010 Gallery features the largest collection of 2010 Olympic artifacts in Vancouver. Attendees will also be able to stand on an official podium from the games, specifically the one that supported Canadian speed skaters Denny Morrison, Mathieu Giroux, and Lucas Makowsky as they received their Team Pursuit gold medals at BC Place.

The BC Sports Hall of Fame celebrates extraordinary achievement in BC sport history and inspires future generations to make their dreams come true. Spring hours take effect on Monday, March 16th and the BC Sports Hall of Fame will be open Monday to Sunday from 10am-5pm to welcome Spring Break guests. To gain access to free youth tickets, tickets must be purchased in person.
