Once again it is that time of year, my favorite time of year, Fan Expo Vancouver time. Yes, I am a huge nerd and I am totally proud to flaunt it and yell it from the rooftops which is why I love getting the chance to check out Fan Expo every year. Each year brings lots of new things to see, buy and people to meet and this year will be no different.
Dare I say that this years line ups is one of the best I have seen in a couple years, which really gets me excited.
What exactly is there to look forward to this year at Fan Expo Vancouver?
This years celebrity line up is totally off the hook with a massive range of fans favorites from all types of genres. This year they have a great line up of classic celebrities like Brendon Fraser (my biggest crush in his mummy and George of the jungle days), and Christina Ricci who I loved in Casper as a kid myself. It also helped that Devon Sawa actually lived in my apartment as a kid, perhaps he is why I actually loved that movie. If you are a Star Trek fan they will have both Levar Burton and Marina Sirtis. Of course there are also amazing voice actors and comic book artists that you wont want to miss out on meeting. Don’t forget, many of them are doing photo-ops but the spots sell out fast so make sure to get them in advance.
One of my families favorite parts about going to Fan Expo every year is seeing all the amazing Cosplayers that come out each and every year. They spend so much time and effort on their looks and the really good ones are honestly something to marvel at. I am always impressed with what I see each year and I know that this year will be filled with surprises with all the great themed meetups they have planned for all the cosplayer genres! Everyday of the expo there are a bunch of awesome meetups planned so make sure to check out the schedule so you know where to be and when.
There is so much to look at in terms of merchandise. Whether you are looking for stuffies, new dice or art work there is something for you. In fact I dare you to leave without at least SOMETHING – I do have to say make sure you google before you buy. Always worth it if you are trying to save money. Where there are a million things in there you legit can’t get anywhere else, there are a few you can get elsewhere for a better price – so keep an eye out and also remember great sales happen the last moments of the last day on things like tshirts, blind boxes and comic books.
There is so much to see and do you wont even know what to do first. New games to demo, speed dating to do if you are on the market and so many q&a’s with your favorite celebrities.
This year we want to give you and a friend a chance to check out Fan Expo Vancouver Feb. 15th-17th – so enter below for your chance to win!
