Holiday shopping can be one of the most stressful things any parent has to do each year. Not only are the kids expectations high with their unlimited and seemingly endless Christmas lists, but our time is at an all time low with all the kids concerts, dinners to plan and things to buy. Thankfully Metropolis at Metrotown knows how hard the holiday shopping can be and wants to do everything they can to help us all out this year.
How will they be helping us get our holiday shopping done?
They have put together an amazing list of things that will not only make your holidays easier but also a little more affordable and filled with giving.
Santa Has Arrived
Santa has landed at Metropolis at Metrotown and they have made it easier than ever to get those cute family photos. With their great digital registration system they get your digital image copies to you in a FLASH and while you are waiting in line, if there is one, there is a great game area for the kids to play and enjoy to make life that much easier on parents. Of course the earlier in the season and day you go the better the chances at little to no waiting at all. Plan ahead, leave happy and get some holiday shopping done at one of the MANY amazing stores at Metropolis.
All pictures are available with a minimum donation of $4 with all proceeds going to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau. This way you get those amazing family photos while you help families that are struggling this holiday season. The more you give the more you help others too so don’t be shy!

Let Them Do The Wrapping
This year Metropolis is doing everything they can to help you this holiday season and that includes the wrapping! I am a terrible gift wrapper, ask my husband he usually takes away my rights to wrap, so to get a little help with that this Christmas would be amazing. Burnaby Neighbourhood House and MS Society of BC/Yukon will be offering gift wrapping services, by donation, starting November 29 to December 24. With all the proceeds donated benefiting both charities, helping you make a big impact this year! Gift wrap booths will be located in front of The Disney Store on the Ground Level, and in front of Plenty on the Upper Level.
AGAIN, get in early to avoid line ups and long waits – shop early and get them wrapped before you even get them to the car! No chance of the kids getting a peak if you bring them home wrapped this year.
Ever get lost inside Metrotown? I have for sure a few times and now they have a wonderful solution for that this holiday season. You can text 604-359-9111 to reach Metropolis’ Guest Services for assistance while in the mall or even before you are planning your trip to the mall. You can ask anything in regard to finding a store, the mall hours, parking, children’s stroller, and more – of course this service is only available during mall hours. Never have to look silly asking for help for the 4th time at the mall in the same day!
Make It Easy With A Gift Card
Metropolis is home to the largest selection of stores in the lower mainland. It is the best one stop shop for everything that you might need this holiday season. So when you are stuck for a gift for someone and really want to make sure they get exactly what they want/need this Christmas then a Metropolis Gift Card could be the perfect idea. Not only are these a great idea for those in your family but they are a great idea for donating too. So many families this Christmas are in need of a little extra help and a Metropolis Gift Card could be a great way to let some hard up parents actually go out and buy some gifts for their kids. They are redeemable throughout the mall, as well as 22 other Ivanhoe Cambridge shopping centres across Canada and you can snag one online too!
Of course they also have great extended holiday hours to give you all the time you need to get all your shopping done this year – all of which can be found HERE.
Metropolis is doing everything they can this year to make your holiday shopping easier and more fun for families this holiday season. If you are shopping with the kids don’t forget a few of the following awesome things that Metrotown features:
Little Train that boards on the lower level that the little kids love for a $1 donation/rider
Lockers are located by the food court and are great if you just need a break from carrying so much stuff ($1/day)
Stroller rentals on the Upper Level to help you out when those kids just get too tired
Phone charging stations + seating area when your phone just dies on you and you need answers ASAP about a gift idea!
Tell us what you love about shopping at Metrotown!
