** This Metropolis at Metrotown’s Waste to Wonder post is sponsored by Metropolis at Metrotown. **
If you haven’t already heard from my last post, Metropolis at Metrotown is hosting an amazing exhibit called Waste to Wonder. This event is not only beautiful to look at it is supremely educational for families. Not only are all the animals on display at risk animals in our neck of the woods most of them have been made life sized! That is right all of them, other than the beaver, are made actual life size – all from flip flops that would have otherwise negatively impacted our environment.
Waste to Wonder is a beautifully display of the harmful impact we are having on species as the human race.
I was given an incredible chance to see these creations up close and personal with a few of my favorite bloggies and they are even more spectacular in person. We got to mingle, drink, nibble and take pictures up close and personal with these works of art AND meet one of the artists from Ocean Sole Africa. Ocean Sole is the organization behind the creation of these incredible art pieces and it is incredible to see them in action. While we were there he created a small rhino and a giraffe that were definitely turning heads.
From August 8th to September 8th the public will have a chance to check these out in person, but not only just look at them. Each animal comes with fun educational facts and Metropolis at Metrotown has a bunch of amazing events planned all on theme and FREE. The perfect idea for family and friends to get together, enjoy these amazing pieces of art work and learn something about conservation.
