Kids these days have all the cool stuff and that doesn’t just mean the latest kids toys out there on the market, I am talking the opportunities they have now for teens out there. Back in my day when you had an internship it was unpaid – but thanks to lots of hard work, advocates and protesting; now they are paid and provide amazing connections. Coast Capital, in fact, has an emerging internship program that is such a great opportunity and could actually lead to a full time career right out of the gate.
A perfect option for a teen who isn’t sure what to do, is great with math and maybe has high ambitions for travel and needs a great job with great advancement opportunity to help them realize that dream. Coast Capital could be that amazing stepping stone for some lucky grade 11 & 12 students out there and they make it nice and easy to apply online.
Youth Get It Interns are giving a paid opportunity to work with their community in financial literacy, while securing an opportunity for their futures. Students will gain skills like leadership, community relations and financial literacy that prepare them for their future endeavours. Those selected for the 20 positions work as paid community ambassadors at various events across B.C. and as Member Service Representatives in Coast Capital Savings branches. Interns work part-time after school or on weekends during the school year to, accommodate their learning schedule, and full time in the summer.
Coast Capital Savings’ Youth Get It Intern program has successfully kicked off many careers, including dozens of employees who have stayed on with Coast Capital Savings following their time as an intern. As someone who has grown up with friends who started in banking right out of high school, I can say they are happy and still all working at their branches. It is a great solid career path and CC is a great company to work for with ideals you can support.
