St. Patrick's Day Wreath

This year we all know that I have a bit of an obsession with wreaths. It has to do with the fact that this Christmas my hubby wanted to buy yet another wreath about the same price as our tree. I was not going to have any of it and decided I would make my own Christmas wreath out of the Remembrance day one I had made a month prior. Doing this made my hubby proclaim that I couldn’t possibly do this for each holiday… and well I now have been given a challenge. A challenge I plan to excel at. So here continues my year of wreaths with our super simple DIY St. Patrick’s day wreath.

The perfect accessory to welcome all the little leprechauns over to your house!

What do you need?

1 willow branch wreath (you can find this in small or large sizes at most dollar stores) $1.25
Gold and green floral wire $2.50
Mini green glitter top hats (pack of 5 at local dollar store) $1.25 and we only need one – save the rest for the kids at school!

St. Patrick's Day WreathWhat you need to do

First you will stretch out your wire and begin twisting them together to create one strand of wire.

Second you will then wrap the twisted gold and green wire and wrap it would the willow branch wreath leaving a little excess at the end.

Third you will take your little hat, make a small cut on one side to poke the wire through. Then put your wire through and wrap around the front brim of the hat to hold into place. Here you can easily bend and manipulate your wire to make your hat sit exactly how you like it.

Then you are all done and ready to put it up on your front door to surprise your poor unsuspecting husband.

After all what is life without a little whimsy?

I hope this little beauty will help you and your family celebrate St. Patrick’s day even more this year!
