January has been filled with some crazy plans and some days, to be honest, I am looking for a way to get away from it all. Without you know, leaving my house…. sometimes without leaving my bed. Wedding planning is taking its toll on me and I will be the first to admit I have had a few days of procrastinating and Netflix bingeing. Luckily for me watching Netflix is actually me doing research for all of you.

How else would you hear about Netflix’s hidden gems?

Somebody Feed Phil

If you love to watch travel shows and you are a lover of the food network you will love Phil. Phil is one of the happiest people I have ever had the pleasure of watching. He is so cheerful he makes all his travels joyful, watching him explain how food tastes is just the best. I gobbled up his show and I have to say it has been one of my favorite travel food shows.

One Day At A Time

I loved the first season of this show. It was a tear jerker, had lots of lovey dovey family feelings all over it and it never shy’s away from bringing up the tough topics. So I am happy to report that you can now catch season two on Netflix for any of your bingeing needs. If you are looking for a great family show to binge this is a great choice, especially if you are looking for strong female characters.

Myths & Monsters

I love urban legends and I love old mythology from all over the world. If you are the same and you want something to take you away for a few hours this is my top suggestion. It is a super well put together show with beautiful artwork that really helps bring the stories to life. Learn about the knights of Camelot, mermaids, Norse gods and so much more.

Altered Carbon

This one isn’t going to be coming out till Feb. 2nd but you can bet that I will be watching the whole first season in one day. I honestly have no idea what this is about, I have seen their after life concept all over at conventions online and I am way too excited than any normal person should be about this show coming out.

I love Godzilla, especially the older movies. I grew up watching them, which is why I screamed out loud when they released the anime movie. It didn’t disappoint either it was filled with amazing action, great dialogue and kept me completely immersed. Granted it was different seeing him in the light of earth destructor rather than savior like most of the old movies.

Now I love action packed shows and I love animals, mix them together and you have Zoo one of the best shows ever. I have no idea what happened to this show but I really need it to continue. A world where animals fight back against humans and in some of the most surprising ways. Like sloth’s that create earth quakes through a low resonating tone or electric ants! It is filled with everything you need to escape from your work day for a few hours.

The Good Life

If you haven’t see this amazing Kristen Bell show you need to get in on the action. This is the funniest thing on earth and I love how many twists it has. I love this show and I know you will love Kristen in this role. She is darker, sarcastic and kind of a jerk. I love her.

With all those shows you will be ready to procrastinate any time of the day thanks to Netflix!

  1. I do love Kristen Bell — real ‘Veronica Mars’ fangirl here — but the show isn’t called The Good Life, it’s called The Good Place.
