As a mom who doesn’t get out of the house much I find a good book a great way to kinda unwind, when I can make the time to do so of course. Let’s face it I don’t HAVE time so I have to MAKE time… isn’t that always how it is with mothers??
I decided to join in with Booksneeze to build my collection and let you know what to read and what not to read in a sense. I am not the best judge of books as i’m not picky and most everything finds a way to make me happy somehow.. much like movies. You can look at my list, I am honestly ALL over the map on that topic. Anyways I read this book, luckily its a nice quick read so the time was easy to spare, and I kinda liked it.
“The Truth Of The Matter” by Andrew Klavan was a really great action packed novel. The story, for me, was harder to get into, only because I haven’t read the previous two books so I have a bit of a puzzle to put together for a little bit. I finally really got sucked into the feeling of fear and unknowing that is potrayed throughout the book. Like movies I get a little too highly invested. In the fourth Harry Potter book where she killed Cedric I honestly cried for a good half hour solid, and I haven’t read another since… that was back in high school.
Sorry off topic… this book was an alright read, the writing wasn’t AMAZING but action films don’t have the greatest scripts either but their a good way to waste time and escape. I mean do we read romance novels for their literary merit? No, we don’t. So consider this a suspenseful action movie in writing and you’ll be happy with output.
I found this book to be fast paced and quite witty from time to time, so its a great young adult read. I can suggest this for that young reader who loves a good action movie, this series would probably really make them happy.
my rating: 3/5
