This past weekend I was given a brilliant opportunity to go try out all the amazing goodies that are coming to the menu at BC Place Stadium, just in time for the Whitecaps season. I was thrilled to be on the list for this great event and I made sure to bring one of my favorite bloggie friends: BCmom and both of us were HUNGRY upon arrival and couldn’t wait to do our food research!
I knew we were going to be in for a great day of fun, but boy was I ever surprised. Not only were we getting to test out the new menu they had setup a great spot for us to eat and mingle right on the green which was one of the most fantastic things I have ever gotten to do. I mean how many people can say they got to eat on the green while it was empty on a beautiful bright day.
Can’t thank BC Place and the Whitecaps enough for such a once in a lifetime opportunity. Of course I hope I get spoiled with another chance to do it all over again one day.
When we got into the event there were beautiful tables, and an entire outline of food from one end to another with samples ready for pictures – it was totally drool worthy and made us even more excited to get started with the eating.
Now there are a few things you need to know about the BC place menu is this: they locally source their ingredients, make different diets a priority AND make everything in house. That is right, in case you didn’t know BC place is actually the largest running restaurant in Vancouver. With tonnes offered from vegan to meat filled they have something delicious to eat for everyone.
Now, like all food events, I had my clear favorites and I can’t wait to tell you all about my top choices for food at BC Place Stadium.
Beast Fries from the Poutinerie
I didn’t think I would love this one as much as I did but everything in combo was sooooo good!
Caramelized onion, cheddar cheese, thousand island dressing.
Vegan Chana Masala
This was the best curry – way better than their past choice of supplying Vij’s. Making it in house really has made all the difference in curry quality
Chickpea, red lentil, onion, tomato, house Marsala, coconut milk.
Vegan Fiesta Burrito Bowl (to make vegan ask for no sour cream EASY)
A great and super filling option for the game, if you are HANGRY this will fit the bill and the portion sizes are BIG so share if you don’t think you can finish it all.
Black beans, salsa fresca, sour cream (ask for no sour cream for vegan), marinated slaw, served over cilantro-lime rice.
There was so much to try and eat but out of everything those are my top three choices for when I go back to a game. That is right you need to make sure you get yourself and your family to a game cause they are filled with fun and now filled with good for you food.
