vancouver christmas market

Today marks the very first day of the Vancouver Christmas Market and our family couldn’t be more excited. Last night myself and a bunch of other great media outlets around the city got a full sneak peak of everything new that the market has to offer. It was a bunch of fun and I was so lucky to spend the evening enjoying it in this amazing VIP setting with all my VIP ladies.

This year they have added so much more and made the space super well spaced out. There is tons to do and see: photo ops stops are set up all over, there is a huge Kinder Kraft Igloo sponsored by 4Cats Arts Studio for all the little crafters, food everywhere and of course lots of shopping!

They even have a bunch of great specials going on all throughout the season which makes it even more amazing for all of you wanting to check it out: Children’s Wish Weeks with an exclusive visit and on-site activity with Vancouver Canucks defenseman Erik Gudbranson, Deluxe Date Night, Kids Day, Club Christmas Thursdays, or Carousel Fridays just to name a few.

Among this year’s expanded highlights is a cozy heated Alpine Lounge where you can relax and enjoy hot beverages and delicious food in a warm holiday environment. Guests will also delight in gathering in the market’s sleek new WunderBAR, an 840 square foot space offering an exclusive VIP experience in a gorgeous, heated wintry setting. It is nice and cozy and off the beaten path away from the hustle and bustle of outside. It can hold 40 people and you can even book it for parties this holiday season. Guests will be able to book hour-long tastings to indulge in Christmas cocktails or a mug of hot Feuerzangenbowle (spiced mulled wine) prepared by the market’s merry mixologists, and snack on a fine assortment of charcuterie or delicious German desserts in a twinkling winter oasis.

After relaxing in the Alpine Lounge or WunderBAR, visitors can make their way outside to revel in the new Winterdeck (located beside the Alpine Lounge) featuring a charming entrance arch, a giant lit up picture frame, and stunning views of the North Shore. Couples will enjoy in venturing down Lovers’ Lane – an Instagram-worthy 20-foot long tunnel adorned with 10,000 twinkling lights and mistletoe. A Love Lock Installation will be placed near the tunnel to which lovers can attach a ‘Vancouver Christmas Market Love Lock’, serving as a beautiful symbol of love and partnership over the holiday season.

A huge draw to the Vancouver Christmas Market is its signature array of mouth-watering delectables, including Glühwein (a hot-spiced mulled wine), German Bratwurst, Gulasch, Spätzle, Schnitzel, Strudels, Transylvanian Chimney Cakes, a selection of German beer, award-winning German style wine, and so much more droolworthy treats. There are a few new local vendors offering the best food and drink BC has to offer including organic vegan and vegetarian fare from the Organic Villa Vegan Haus, charcuterie from the Charcuterie Haus, sweet and savoury macarons prepared by Bon Macaron Patisserie, syrup-filled pancakes made by Mr.Hot Cakes, warm roasted chestnuts from JJ’s Fresh Roasted Chestnuts, and gluten free hard apple cider made by Howling Moon Craft Cider.

Like I said there is soo much to see and do and even each day will bring something new and spectacular to the festival so get those season passes and have the most amazing holiday season! There is no way you will walk away unhappy and looks at all the goodies I found!
